Manfred Kielnhofer: “Mini Wächter” (2012) Der österreichische Maler, Bildhauer und Fotograf Manfred Kielnhofer macht seit 2006 an verschiedenen Orten mit seinem “Wächter”-Projekt auf sich aufmerksam. Dabei postiert er fünf lebensgroße Wächterfiguren – in sich gewandte, ein wenig an mittelalterliche Mönche erinnernde Gestalten – für einige Zeit perfekt ausgeleuchtet in Museen und Ausstellungen, aber auch an ausgesuchten öffentlichen Plätzen. Dort nehmen sie, einer alten mystischen Vorstellung folgend, die Funktion von Geschichte und Weltenlauf beobachtenden “Zeitwächtern” ein und vermitteln dem Betrachter die Erkenntnis: Ein Jeder ist für die Geschehnisse seiner Zeit (mit)verantwortlich, jede unserer Taten wird von den “Wächtern” gesehen und bewertet.Diese “Mini Wächter” stammen aus dem Jahr 2012 und nehmen das Konzept der Wächterfiguren in Form eines miniaturisierten Multiples noch einmal auf. Kunststoff lackiert. Wetterfest. Limitierte Auflage jeweils 500 Exemplare, signiert und nummeriert. Manfred Kielnhofer und Christoph Luckeneder sind seit der erfolgreichen Ausstellung in der Galerie Liebau in BRD als “Zwei Lichtgestalten/Two Light Icons” im Künstlerkollektiv unterwegs, nicht immer zwar, aber immer öfter. Bei der Biennale 13 in Venedig werden wir uns mit einem oder mehreren T-guards – s. Modell – beteiligen. Der sitzende “Wächter” ist von Manfred Kielnhofer, das “T” mit den Kabelbindern stammt von mir. Beide Kunstformen zusammen ergeben eine spannendes Objekt, Assoziationen zu religiösen Symbolen sind durchaus erwünscht. Während das Modell geschickt mit dem Fahrrad zu transportieren ist, wird das Ding in Venedig an die 3m hoch sein, da wird intelligente Logistik gefragt sein, da wir damit mehrere Plätze in Venedig ansteuern und uns im Hintergrund halten, um die Reaktionen der Leute zu studieren. Wir werden dich (Sie) noch informieren, meist allerdings auf Facebook.

Bitte vormerken: In der Galerie Thiele in Linz, Klosterstrasse 16, sind sowohl Manfred Kielnhofers “Wächter” als auch ein “LichtKaktus” von Chr. Luckeneder zu besichtigen und zu erwerben. Vom 3. bis 5. Oktober 2013 werden wir bei den erfolgreichen jungen Architekten in Ottensheim, bei “Two in a Box”, unsere “LichtEntfaltungen” zeigen.

14.04.13 – BURGHAUN – Vor vollem Haus konnte der Burghauner Galerist Günter Liebau gestern Abend  eine hochkarätige Ausstellung eröffnen. For a new city, Manfred Kielnhofer is producing its own group of unique sculptures. They will appear every night at new place and the unique sculptures might stay in a local gallery. The new Project "Mini-Guardians" offer the chance to integrate a very special kind of photo competition too.

These sculptures are traveling the world, showing up in museums and exhibitions all over. With Art Dubai Week 2013, they made their journey to the United Arab Emirates capital, picking a new place to turn up each night of the event. This event is happening March 20-25, 2013; follow closely to see where “The Guardians” will settle in.
